After the “shocking” episode of heavy urbanization in Buenos Aires we headed further south to the East coast in the area of Bahia Blanca, which is in principal a “South” coast regarding it's orientation from East to West. In summertime it is said, one can therefore see the unique phenomena of sunrises and sunsets at the same place, as the sun rises south-east and sets south-west (to find out this and more unknown astrological things on the southern hemisphere some Google research was necessary). However, at this time of the year it is not taking place yet, but anyway the beach at Monte Hermoso fulfilled its name.

Endless kilometers of sand, blue sky and sunshine, no tourists yet, and some stony footprints from ancient times of humans and Dinosaurs (if you have some power of imagination) and birds.

However, since arriving to the coast now, the dusty wind will be present all the time and it is just the question about it's power, if you can use the car still as a windshield for sitting outside or better to put it with the “nose” into the wind, to have some peace inside.
Bahia Blanca itself, when passing it some days later, appeared to be a heavily industrialized city, showing the backside of all the beautiful beaches in this area.
Passing it quickly our way was leading us to El Condor, close to Viedma, a place famous for around 35000 parrots nesting there. It was impressive to see all the holes they dig in the sandstone of the cliff and we were looking hours to these wonderful colored birds flying in and out all the time.

After seeing the parrots in El Condor it was on time spotting sea animals. For this we went to Puerto San Antonio Este, where we stayed at a great beach completely covered with shells. Here we had two fantastic days with enjoying the outside kitchen using the Coleman stove (not the first time at all). This device is one of the most important things in the gear on this trip. It gives the possibility to enlarge the limited space in the car and standing outside while cooking, looking to fantastic environments, seeing the waves and sunsets, and being close to nature is giving this fantastic feeling of freedom on this trip. Many thanks to the family for this Birthday present.

On a boat trip we saw then sea lions and a few penguins and got very helpful tips for places to see the whales when going more South.
